DDRU Quest Mode Guide
Those that know me well know I’m a DDR fan. I was excited that a new DDR game was coming to the Xbox 360. Since the game came out last week I’ve played it nearly every day. One really really evil thing they’ve done though is they’ve made the unlockable songs only availble through quest mode (along with achievements for unlocking them). The other evil thing they did was offer no instruction what-so-ever for how to use quest mode, nothing in the game itself, nothing in the booklet. The mode isn’t exactly apparent either, it’s actually quite confusing even if you know how it works. Because of that I wrote a quest mode guide. I actually submitted this to both Xbox.com Achieve360points.com and GameFAQs.com but NONE of them accepted it, I really have no idea why, they all just ignored my submission. So I’m posting it here and hopefully it will come up in some searches. This isn’t something I plan on doing very often. (more…)
Xbox 360 Hypervisor Cracked
There’s no post this week because I’m on vacation. Check back next week for your weekly dose of Opinion. In the mean Check out Xbox-Scene Where they’re reporting that the Xbox 360′s Hypervisor has been cracked. For those of you who don’t know that mean that the Xbox 360 is potentially cracked as wide open as the Xbox 1 in terms of being able to run unsigned code, which means things like XBMC, Linux, and emulators might start popping up as well as more useful modchips or other kinds of hacks. Keep your eyes open, this is the start of exciting times.
360 Price Drops and Big HDDs
When will the 360 get a price drop? When will larger Hard Drives become available for the Xbox 360? I believe the answers to these questions are intimately related. And I also believe that understanding how they are related will provide us with a better idea of when we can expect to see these things happen. (more…)
Achieveing for Old Spice
For those of you who don’t know, not too long ago Microsoft announced that a new contest was going to pop up where you’d be challenged to complete some in game tasks for prizes. The Xbox Live Rewards program is sponsored by Old Spice and the first of many “challenges” instructs gamers to achieve 1,500 points in 3 months time.
This turned into a debacle on so many levels it’s not even funny. The announcement stated that registration would open on February 12th and gamers would have until April 12th to complete the challenge. Prizes are limited (and some of them are good prizes too, including full retail games). (more…)
More Hardcore Then Before
The Xbox 360 has been reported on several occasions as having an alarmingly high attach rate. Typically this is seen as a good thing, but somehow this has been construed to mean that the only people who’ve bought Xbox 360s are the hardcore gamers willing to buy lots of new games. The speculation is that the console is being neglected by the casual gamer and other hard to reach demographics (meant to imply that it’s reaching critical mass). Personally, I believe it’s something completely different. (more…)
