thoughthead changes

Posted in thoughthead by Michael Pica on the June 10th, 2007

You might notice some slight changes to the layout here at thoughthead, in addition to pairing down the sidebar to make room for some sponsored links, the search is now powered by Google and we’ve also added avatars. The avatars are managed by Gravatar, if you would like to setup an avatar to use here: simply sign up with Gravatar and your avatar will automatically be added to all of your posts here as well as retroactively with everything you’ve posted so far. This is of course assuming you used the same email to sign up here that you did with Gravatar.

Why have I added avatars? you might ask. Well I’ve invited a colleague to join the ranks here at thoughthead. He will be here sharing his insights into the game industry in much the same fashion that I have been. This doesn’t mean you’ll see any less from me, I plan on posting weekly just as I always have, but now you’ll get even more to read every week. Please welcome him when you see him appear here on the site.

Before you start scratching your head as to why I’m allowing someone else to post on “my” site, understand that this has ALWAYS been my intention. thoughthead.com was created with the intent of delivering creative and intelligent insights into the video game and home theater realm. This marks the first step towards that, don’t be surprised if you see even more people contributing to thoughthead in the future.

Home Theater & MCUs

Posted in Home Theater,Moding, thoughthead,Xbox 360,Xbox-Scene by Michael Pica on the April 25th, 2007

There is no thoughthead article this week (you got 5 updates in the last 2 weeks so stop complaining). I’m taking the break to concentrate on the Achievement Machine Project.

Next week I’ll be back with an in depth article on building a home theater. You can read my post on Xbox-Scene to get an idea of where I’m starting from.

Posted in thoughthead by Michael Pica on the December 27th, 2006

Why are you here?

There is no post this week, I’m too busy playing with all my new toys and enjoying my short vacation from work, you should do the same.

Don’t worry, they’ll be something new to read next week.

Until then… Happy Holidays!

Server Upgrade

Posted in thoughthead by Michael Pica on the December 6th, 2006

I’m going to be upgrading the server over the next couple of days. I’m actually going with a completely different host. The contract for one I’m with now is expiring soon and I’d rather go with a more feature filled package then stay where I am.

If all goes as planned you wont even notice. Also There is a new article going up later tonight for those who are waiting for one.

First Post!

It has come to my attension that I’m an opinionated bastard… actually that’s not entirely true; I’ve always known that I’m an opinionated bastard. As a moderator on Xbox-Scene I spend quite a bit of time in the forum’s trenches helping people with technical questions, politely correcting them when they’re wrong, and generally voicing my opinion on whatever topic is the flavor of the hour. And that’s in addition to my moderator duties, which really serve more as an excuse for my bad habbit more then anything else. (more…)
