360 Price Drop

When the 360 launched it did so at a price higher than most people were used to paying for a console. By the time the PS3′s price was announced the 360′s price tag didn’t seem all that bad, though, the Wii reminded us that a new console can still have a reasonable price. There’s a lot of rumors flying around about when we’ll see price drops happening this generation. Here are my predictions… (more…)

Do Achievements Ruin Games?

A discussion has started on the International Game Developers Association forums that poses the question about whether Achievements add to the gaming experience or detract from it. The Core Argument is that Achievements and gamerscore change the way people approach games; changing even artful plot driven games into a just another high-score grind-fest. (more…)

There is no thoughthead article this week (you got 5 updates in the last 2 weeks so stop complaining). I’m taking the break to concentrate on the Achievement Machine Project.
